Six-Year-Old Boy Defends Three-Year-Old Sister To Emerge WBC Honorary Heavyweight Champion

Six-year-Old Bridger Walker from Cheyenne, Wyoming in the US, became the youngest-ever World Boxing Commission (WBC) Heavyweight champion of the world without even throwing a punch in the ring.

Interestingly Bridger is not a boxer, he is not even a fan of the sport and did not throw punches with any opponent in a Boxing bout before earning the title. ,

But what he punched was more dangerous for it could have ended his and his little sister's lifes.

One Lazy afternoon, as he loitered around the home of a family friend with his little sister, Brielle, the family friend's dog, a German Shepherd, suddenly lunged at Brielle.

Bridger Did not even hesitate. He blocked the dog from biting Brielle. The dog attacked Bridger's face and hands. Undeterred, he grabbed his sister and ran away to safety.

After Medical attention, Bridger emerged a hero in his community for bravely defending his three-year old sister from getting mauled and killed by the dog.

What Led him to do this? The response is even more profound. According to Wyoming Tribune Eagle, the young hero said, "If anyone has to die, it would be me, I am the big brother".

In No time, the World Boxing Council, WBC, organisers heard the news and decided to hour Bridger. The Council made Bridger a full time honorary world heavyweight champion, "for his courageous actions that represent the absolute best values of humanity” and sent him a championship belt.“ Thatwas amazing,” Robert, his father, said, adding, “We have the belt hanging in the basement.”

Later the council informed Bridger’s father of its decision to introduce a new weight class to heavyweight boxing and requested his permission to name this new division"the Bridgerweight" after his son. This new category is for boxers weighing between 200 and 224 pounds and is currently the middle division between the cruiserweight and heavyweight WBC divisions.

Not Just that, Bridger and his entire family visited Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on an all-expenses paid trip, Bridger got free cosmestic surgeries, went on friendly visits to organisations, and donors sent donations in his name to charities his family selected.

The Public still ached to do more. So, his family requested fans to send pictures of rock formations to him because that's his hobby. Within days, bins filled with mails expectedly surfaced at his family's homestead as America increasingly lauds its young hero
