The pig farmer, who has been evacuated from her home due to flooding, was being interviewed by a reporter about how local businesses have been affected by the recent heavy rainfall in San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, when mid-questioning, she started breastfeeding a baby pig.



Demonstrating the desperate situation and shortage of food, she explained: "The mother died, and with my chest, nothing else, I am the mother now."


The cameraman promptly cut away, onto the faces of unfazed locals, while the journalist continued her report on the over-flowing Huaycoloro river.


This wasn't done for a feminist cause or even to prove a political point – but it does unintentionally show the heart-breaking devastation and damage that widespread flooding has left behind in South America.
